humanconsultancy.eu registered
Saturday, April 8th, 2006From 7 April individual and legal persons from EU countries can register domain names under dot EU. Our domain “humanconsultancy.eu” was among the 702,648 new domain names registered by EURid, a nonprofit organisation appointed by the European Commission to register and manage .eu domain names, during the first 4 hours. It will take another few days before the names are in use. We will probably just use the name to forward visitors to our humanconsultancy.com website, as we already do with the domain name human.eu.com.
Existing .eu domain names and names still available can be looked up through the EURid Whois database. We also registered “nondiscrimination.eu” (we already own the names nondiscrimination.net and non-discrimination.net), but the name “non-discrimination.eu” was registred by Inclusion Europe. The name “anti-discrimination.eu” has apparently been registred by a German layer Florian Hitzler, but and the name “antidiscrimination.eu” is still available has been registered 9 April by PfA Arbeitsrecht. And many names will be registered by companies who want to sell these for big money.
According to Wired news EU Commissioner Viviane Reding said the Commission hopes the new “.eu” name will one day rival the “.com” name. She also announced that all EU institutions, including the Commission, European Parliament and the EU’s general website will switch to the “.eu” name on May 9, Europe Day .
